Huntly 2 – WAFC 0

With Alistair away on holiday Zeeky and Tichie take charge for todays game.

Don fails to pass a late fitness test, so young keeper James More   takes his place between the sticks. More has a fine match and performed really well in goal.

20 minutes gone Academy haven’t really created an open chance yet, but neither have Huntly . Mark Nichol charges down Huntly keeper Gorski’s kick out but fails to slot home with Gorski finally claiming the ball at the third attempt. Nichol goes close shortly afterwards with a free header that Groski holds.

A Huntly attack sees a goal line scramble that is cleared by Andrew MacLeod.

Just before half-time Craig Shearer has a good header saved by the Huntly keeper.

Half time – 0 – 0

Almost immediately after the restart Gorski pulls out a wonder save to deny Craig Shearer from 6 yards and than Shearer looks on as his downward header goes inches the wrong side of the post with Gorski a spectator.

53 minutes Simon Scott collects the ball in his own half and runs through the midfield to unleash a rasper from 25 yards and scores for Huntly.

56 minutes Huntly score again with a break-away goal, Academy are attacking and in the Huntly area when they are robbed o f the ball and three passes sees Graham Green closing and Richard Craig slotting home from 6 yards out. A classic counter attack.

Huntly really go for the game now and have a few more opportunities to extend their lead but More does well in the Academy goal.

Mark Nichol one-on-one with the keeper, but fails to convert.

5 minutes to go and Huntly are dominating the game and should be more than 2 goal up.

As the games comes to a close, Academy go close through Nichol and MacKenzie but it was not to be.

Both Lossiemouth and Rothes lost as well today, so Academy stay in 11th place in the league.
