WAFC fielded a full squad with 4 players subbed at half time. Good strong performance from a fit looking and aggressive Gary Farquhar topped off by 2 well taken goals. Further strong performances from Martin Macgregor playing at right back ( one half only ) David Cowie and a speedy Nigel Mckenzie who took a well struck goal. Second half WAFC dominated play largely pinning Balintore in their own half. Stevie Reid played second half and also looked good. A youngster (not sure who the boy was ) also played second half and looked comfortable.

Balintores goals came from a penalty and an own goal from Martin Gunn ( a beauty of a header past Don ) Best Balintore player by far was Ewan Dance who controlled Balintores open play and matched most WAFC players in terms of speed and ability, followed closely by a good perfromance by Jamie Skinner ( ex Ross County ).

WAFC were a bit shot shy throughout and certainly had enough chances ( certainly in the second half ) to bury Balintore, again exposing the lack of an out and out striker, although with Jamie Mckenzie signing and the strong rumour that Mark Nicol is to sign, this may well be rectified. To be positive Garry will certainly score goals and add to WAFC goals for this season.

The strong points to take from the game would seem to indicate the quite extensive squad of very experienced players who now make up the squad, the goals and overall contribution Garry Farqhuar will undoubtably make, Stevie Reids return, the very promising skillfull play of Martin Mcgregor and the skill / speed of both Nigel and David Cowie.

Weak points would have to include fitness, as Balintore matched WAFC in this department, and defensive lapses which led to both Balintore goals.
