A last minute winner from Scott Begg won the game for Keith today at Kynoch Park. Michael Ewen put the home side in front and shortly afterwards Academy had the chance to pull level but keeper David Dey saved Sam Mackay's penalty. Steven Anderson squared the scores with his 20 goal of the season. In the last minute of the game Scott Begg looked to have got the final touch to the ball to stick it home following a scramble in the Academy box to break Wick hearts.
Neither team really managed to threaten goal in a low-key opening period. Cammy Keith however should have opened the scoring on the half-hour mark but he missed a sitter firing over the bar from 10 yards out.
That seemed to spark Academy into life and Sam Mackay mad one of his trade-mark surging runs up the middle of the park which was halted when he was tripped-up 20 yards form goal. His resulting free-kick smashed back off the wall.
Macadie and MacGregor worked the ball to good effect playing a neat on-two which released the ball into the box but Keith keeper David Dey was quick off the mark and smothered the ball before Steven Anderson could latch onto it.
James Brownie had a great effort just before the interval that Danny McCarthy went air-born for, diving across his goal to make a fantastic blocking save.
Half Time - Keith 0 - Wick Academy 0
Keith enjoyed a good spell of possession at the start of the second half and Craig Cormack almost opened the scoring with a terrific strike that flew just wide of target.
McCarthy was back in action minutes later this time denying Michael Ewen who'd chanced his hand with a long-range attempt.
Academy then thought they'd taken the lead. Gary Manson crossed for Andrew Hardwick who rose above his marker to head the ball passed the outstretched Dey, but the ball hit the post.
Keith took the lead in the next attack. Michael Ewen again had a pop and this time he picked his spot to perfection and ball only just evaded McCarthy and found the net.

Steven Anderson had an attempt from a Gary Manson free-kick which was well blocked by Dey in the Keith net.
Up the other end and Danny McCarthy was kept on his toes as he pulled off three great saves on the spin to deny Michael Ewen, Cammy Keith and then Scott Begg, the young keeper really keeping Academy in the game.
15 minutes from full-time referee Dan McFarlane awarded Academy a penalty. Richard Macadie crossed into the box and Korbyn Cameron was tripped from behind. Sam Mackay who is normally deadly from the spot drove the penalty attempt straight at keeper Dey and Keith maintained their single goal advantage.
Academy however kept plugging away and Sam Mackay had a shot that smashed back off the crossbar for Steven Anderson to pounce onto and he drilled the ball home from 15 yards out, his 20th of the season.
1 - 1
In the last kick of the game Keith worked the ball into the Academy box and following a scramble it dropped for Scott Begg and he stuck it home to earn Keith all three points.
