Academy secured a fairly comfortable 4-0 win over visitors Huntly today. The three points earned took our total haul to 53, the same number of points we accumulated for the whole of last season. The win also lifted us up a place in the table to third spot above Cove Rangers who were beaten today by Formartine United.
Both Gary Weir and Sean McCarthy had to sit this one out through suspension, but Academy flew out of the blocks and within the first three minutes David Allan and Lukasz Geruzel had both found the net to put the Scorries two goals to the good.
Richard Macadie capitalised on some slack play in the Huntly defence and laid the ball off to Geruzel and he lashed home his second goal of the match from 6 yards to put Academy in at the half-time interval well and truly in the box-seat.
Geruzel had felt a tight hamstring during the interval and was replaced at the start of the second half by James Pickles.
15 minutes from full-time a great ball out of defence by Michael Steven found Macadie free on the left flank. He drove on before crossing to Steven Anderson who converted from close range to round off a pretty comfortable afternoon for the home side.
