Academy travelled to Christie Park today looking to seal a win and bounce back from a run of 3 defeats.

Academy open the scoring with 22 minutes played when David Cowie smashed an unstoppable 25 yard drive into the top right hand corner of Neil Hastie's goal for his first goal of the season.

The black and Gold's responded within a minute to square the scores. A scramble inside the Academy penalty box resulted in Michael McGinlay getting a shot on target and the ball ended up in the bottom right hand corner of the Academy net.

3 minutes later and the Scorries re-gained the lead. Alan Farquhar crossed into the Huntly box and the ball looked to come off the knee of David Cowie and he scored his second of the game.

Half time 1 - 2

Academy extended their lead after the half-time break. David Allan pounced on a mistake in the Huntly defence and chipped the ball into the box for Richard Macadie to tap home from only 2 yards out.

Academy played well in the second half and have kept Huntly from having any real sniff at goal.

Macadie almost doubles his goal tally with 7 minutes of the game left to play when he cut inside from the wing and drove a low shot from 18 yards out that clipped off the outside of the post.

Academy sealed a great result with 6 minutes left to play. Macadie swung a good ball into the box from a corner kick and veteran Craig Shearer rose highest in the box to head home a good goal.

Academy give James Mackay and Alan Hughes from the under 17 squad a run out for the final few minutes of the game and run the clock out to take all 3 points back up the A9. The result gives Academy their first away win in the league this season.
