Match Report

Academy visit the Haughs, home of Turriff United, for their first ever league encounter. Co-managers Hughes and Munro have made one change to the opening line-up that beat Fort William last weekend, with Stewart Ross starting in place of Alex Lamb.

First 15 minutes gone and it's been a fairly even affair thus far. Sam Mackay has had the ball in the net for the Scorries but he was off-side and it didn't count.

With just over a half-hour played Gary Weir has picked up a knock and has been replaced by Stevie Cunningham.

Turriff come close to scoring but Andrew MacLeod clears the ball off the line.

Academy have a great chance to open the scoring. David Allan charged forward and cut the ball across the 6 yard box. Sam Mackay came storming in and sent a bullet shot on target that re-bounded back out off keeper Buchanan's face.

5 minutes later and Academy come close again. Gary Manson hit a thunderous 30 yard shot on target that went over the keeper and smacked off the under-side of the cross-bar and bounced back up off the goal-line. David Allan followed up and got his header on target but Buchanan made a full-length diving save to his left to turn the ball wide of the post.

77 minutes ball played and Turriff take the lead. The ball is whipped into the box from the left and Craig Morrison is un-marked and he sent his right foot shot back across Alan Bokas and into the corner of the net from 10 yards out.

With 5 minutes left Academy are pushing for the equalizer. They play the ball over top of the Turriff defence by Bryan McKiddie and Robert Allan tried to clear it from the toes of Richard Macadie, but he turned the ball into the net for an own-goal.
