Today's visitors Fraserburgh were the last team to beat Academy in the League at Harmsworth Park back in October 2011, but there was no repeat today as three first half goals for the Scorries won them the game. The win has given Academy their best ever start to a season with 3 wins, 14 goals scored and none conceded. Academy are the only team in the league not to have conceded a goal with 3 games played.
Today's result is also Academy's 19th League win on the spin at Harmsworth Park.
Fraserburgh dominated for the first 10 minutes, but a great move by Academy saw Richard Macadie score the opener with 14 minutes played. Macadie then bagged his double from the penalty spot after Fraserburgh keeper Paul Leask had brought down Gary Weir in the box. Davie Allan completed the scoring just after the half-hour to open his account for this season.
Both teams missed further good chances to add to the goal tally, but it's Academy that claim the 3 points, keeping them at the top of the table on goal difference.
Fraserburgh started the game in attacking mood and pegged Academy back into their own half for the first 10 minutes forcing 5 corners. They however failed to make the pressure count and it was Academy against the run of play that opened the scoring. Barry Wison changed the formation to three in mid-field pushed Davie Allan up front and within 2 minutes the change paid off. Gary Weir forged his way up the left flank and crossed into the box for Richard Macadie who tucked the ball home from a tight angle.

On the 26th minute Academy doubled the lead. Gary Weir broke into the Fraserburgh box and he was taken down by Broch keeper Paul Leask. Referee Morag Pirie booked Leask and awarded Academy a penalty which Macadie converted.
2 - 0
Academy were enjoying a great spell of attacking football and they scored their 3rd goal of the game just after the half-hour mark. Macadie split the Broch defence with a pin-point pass and Davie Alan burst through into the box and fired the ball low past Leask into the bottom corner of the net.
3 - 0
Just before half time Fraserburgh came close to pulling one back with only the cross-bar stopping Graham Johnston's effort.
Half Time - Wick Academy 3 - Fraserburgh 0
Sam Mackay forced Leask into two good saves at the start of the second half but Fraserburgh had the bulk of the early possession as they pushed for a way back into the game. More however stood resolute and dealt with everything that came his way with the help of the Fraserburgh front-line who wasted 2 or 3 great chances to get on the score-sheet.
Courtney Cooper had the best of their chances when capitalised on a mistake from Shaun Sinclair but unbelievably he blasted wide past the right hand post from only 12 yards with an empty goal at his mercy.
The pick of Academy's second half chances came from substitute James Pickles who hammered a sweet strike from 35 yards that keeper Leask got a hand to tipping it over his cross-bar for a great save.
