Match Report

Just kicked off at Dudgeon Park in Academy's last league game of the season. Stewart Ross and Alex Lamb are unavailable for selection today, but Gary Manson and Nigel MacKenzie are back in the starting line-up.

20 minutes gone and Brora have had the better of the game thus far. Liam Baxter has had a shot cleared off the line by Andrew MacLeod and a shot on target saved by James More.

Macadie and McKiddie linked well in Academy's best move of the half, but McKiddies's effort on goal from 6 yards out went straight to keeper Curtis.

Half Time 0 - 0

With just over 15 minutes of the second half played Academy make a double substitution. Nigel MacKenzie and Gary Weir come off for Shaun Sinclair and David Allan.

David Allan makes an immediate impact picking up the ball and driving forward before smoking a low cross into the Brora box for Richard Macadie to slot home into an empty net.

0 - 1

Iain Inness is booked by referee Baxter for a bad tackle on Bryan McKiddie. McKiddie needs several minutes for treatment before being assisted off the park and he is replaced by Darren Pullen.

69 minutes gone and Martin Gunn shaves the outside of the upright with a 25 yard shot.

David Allan booked for kicking the ball away for being flagged offside.

5 minutes to go plus at least 4 minutes of injury time for McKiddie's injury, and both sides are pushing hard

With 4 minutes of normal time left David Allan breaks clear into the box and is pulled down by Ryan Tillman. Referee Baxter flashes Tillman the red card and he heads for an early bath. Liam Baxter is also booked for protesting the decision.

Club Captain Martin Gunn claims the ball and he fires the spot kick in to the roof of Curtis's net and the away support go wild as that surely secures all 3 points.

0 - 2

With minutes left Davie Cowie pushed a Brora player in the box and Baxter gives another penalty. Substitute John McKay took the spot kick and beat More to set up a tense finish.

1 - 2

With no time for further scoring its game over much to the relief of the travelling support, and Academy bag another 3 points and end the season with a win.

Full time 1 - 2

Today's result puts Academy up into 5th place 2 points ahead of Buckie. Buckie have their last game at home next Saturday against Forres, so they need to win that match in order to re-take that position. Academy are guaranteed at least 6th place, their best ever finish since joining the league in season 1994/95.
