Just kicked off at Grant Park. Gary Weir misses the game due to a prior commitment, but David Allan is back in the starting line-up having recovered from his ham-string injury.

Clach make  five changes from the side that lost 3-5 to Buckie in their last league game. Williamson, Finnis and Davidson are in the defensive line-up in place of Shields, Craig and Dougal. Up front Neil MacDonald and live-wire Blair Lawrie are in for Smith and Kennedy.

15 minutes played and it's been a pretty even affair thus far. Clach  managed to get through one-one on Bokas with 8 minutes played but the Wick keep did well to charge the ball down and clear the danger.

Manson and Macadie combined well to slip in David Allan minutes later but the young striker shot just wide of target.

On the quarter hour Gunn had a left foot shot from 20 yards out that went just over the top of goal.

Clach take the lead with from a 25 yard strike from Stuart Leslie that smacked off the under-side of the cross-bar before coming down and bouncing on the line. The ball didn't look to have fully crossed the line but the far side linesman flagged for the goal.

2 goals come in as many minutes. Clach went 2 up when Urquhart got his head to a high ball that was punted into the Academy box, and he steered it into the net to the right of Bokas.

2 - 0

Academy replied within a minute of the re-start. Cunningham slide David Allan into the box and he kept his cool and slid the ball low under keeper Harrison from 12 yards out.

Half Time 2 - 1

Academy make a change for the start of the second half. Alex Lamb comes off with an injury and he is replaced by Andrew MacLeod.

14 minutes of the second half played and Academy have a good chance to square the scores. Cunningham flicked the ball over the Clach back-line to Macadie and he homed in on goal and got a powerful shot on target but keeper Harrison made a good save turning it wide for a corner.

A minute later and Academy have another chance. David Allan cut the ball back into the box to Cunningham and his shot deflected off the keeper for another corner.

Steve MacDonald is booked for a foul on Sam Mackay. Manson whipped the free-kick into the Clach penalty area and Macadie rose the highest and got a good header on the ball but couldn't keep it down and it went over the top of the cross-bar.

Academy put Clach under more and more and more pressure. Manson puts a throw-in to the feet of Mackay and he dribbles into the 18 yard box and he tried a delicate little chip over keeper Harrison but he got too much on it and it landed on the roof of the net.

Clach break up-field but Academy nick the ball and counter-attack. Sam is through on goal but sends his 18 yard shot on the run inches past the post.

15 minutes left and Academy make their second change with Davie Cowie coming on for Richard Macadie.

Academy miss a glorious chance to square the game. Cunningham drove to the bye-line and cut the ball back across goal to David Allan. He had the whole goal to aim for but somehow keeper Harrison managed to scramble back and caught the ball as it went behind him.

Last change for Academy with 7 minutes left, Bryan Mckiddie comes on for Martin Gunn.

Full Time 2 - 1

Academy had their chances second half to take something from the game but unfortunately it just wasn't to be.
