It's back to league business for today's game. Huntly will be hurting after last weekend's dramatic extra time winner from Academy in the Cup, so this is expected to be a tough match as Huntly have games in hand over the top two which they must really win if they are to challenge for the league title. Both Martin Gunn and Simon Scott sit this one out following last weekend's red cards. Andrew Macleod is back in the Academy line-up for the Scorries, and Scott is replaced with Ross McKenzie and Alan Redford also makes the starting line-up for the black and golds.
Just kicked off. The pitch is heavy with areas patched up with sand, so it's expected that it'll cut up as the game progresses.
15 minutes played and it's a pretty even affair so far. Neither team have had a clear cut chance at goal.
Long ball by shearer David Allan in between defender and keeper Hastie took him out. The referee pointed to the spot and booked keeper Hastie. He's lucky to stay on the park as he was the last man. Sam Mackay stepped up and slotted the spot kick home.
0 - 1
A minute later Academy doubled their lead. Macadie floated along ball into the Huntly box. David Allan was on it in a flash and hammed the ball home beyond an outstretched Hastie.
0 - 2
38 minutes gone and Academy are still playing really well. Macadie cut the ball across the box and caught the keeper Hastie napping at his near post. Weir screamed in and had an empty net to knock it home but a Huntly defender got a toe to the ball and turned it around the post for a corner. Astonishingly the referee gave a free-kick against Weir and he then got booked for protesting.
Half Time 0 - 2
Huntly make a double substitution at the start of the second half. Michael Ewen and Richie Taylor come off and are replaced with Andrzej Kleczkowski and Neil Reid.
With 7 minutes of the second half played Huntly get themselves right back into the games. Myles Brownhill is slotted in on goal. He made himself some space by srugging off the Academy defence and fired home low past Bokas.
1 - 2
With an hour gone Huntly make their final change, Stuart Soane coming on for Michael McGinlay.
Wick are under a lot of pressure with Huntly really having a go at them. Acdemy make a change to try and see the game out, David Allan going off for Stevie Cunningham.
The Huntly pressure pays off and they level the scores. They win a corner that is fired in. Academy fail to clear the ball. Huntly get it goal-bound and Bokas makes a save but it comes back to substitute Soane and he headed the ball into the top left hand corner.
2 - 2
Huntly take the lead with 77 minutes played. A stramash in the Academy box and Redford managed to get a foot to the ball to shoot through a ruck of players to beat Bokas.
3 - 2
Substitute Ross Allan comes close with a header which flashes past the post, but Huntly have been the better side in the second half and run out winners to avenge last weekends defeat.
