Disappointment for Academy tonight as we lost 3-1 down at Dudgeon Park. With an even game up to the 38th minute two goals in as many minutes turned the match on its head.

Dale Gillespie converted a penalty kick to open the scoring and Steven Mackay doubled the advantage 2 minutes later.

James Pickles pulled a goal back on 64 minutes but Gillespie converted his second of the game with 12 minutes left to play to secure the three points.

At a blustery Dudgeon Park, Wick Academy started the game attacking the school end but it was Brora who created the first chance after 13 minutes, a Dale Gillespie long ball was flicked on by Steven Mackay to Zander Sutherland, Sutherland attempted a first time shot but shot well wide. Just a minute later Academy attacked down the left, Davie Allan got to the goal line but his cross was headed over by Richard Macadie from six yards. A poor clear out from Sean McCarthy in the 28th minute found Martin Maclean who played in Sutherland who looked to be goal side of Alan Farquhar but Farquhar put Sutherland under enough pressure to force him to shoot wide.
Brora took the lead in controversial circumstances in the 38th minute, Gillespie played the ball into the box and Sutherland fell rather dramatically under pressure from Michael Steven, the referee pointed to the spot and Gillespie made no mistake from the spot sending the ball high into the top corner. Just three minutes later Brora doubled their lead, Andrew Greig picked the ball up in the middle of the Wick half and burst up the right wing and crossed into the box to find the unmarked Mackay who volleyed home from 12 yards.

Wick created the first chance of the second half in the 58th minute when Steven Harrison took the ball down in the box but Joe Malin was quick off his line and blocked the ball for a corner. From the corner Brora broke up the park and found themselves in a 2v1 situation, Greeg played in Sutherland but McCarthy came out and saved the ball with his feet.

Academy pulled a goal back in the 64th minute when Macadie picked up a poor kick out from Malin and Macadie released David Allan down the right wing, Allan's cross found Gary Weir whose shot was blocked but the rebound found James Pickles and he fired home. The away side nearly levelled five minutes later but Sam Mackay's free kick forced a fine save from Malin. Brora made sure of the points in the 78th minute when Greig played Sutherland in down the left wing and Sutherland got to the goal line and cut the ball back to Gillespie and he tapped the ball home from six yards out.
