WAFC U17's 10 - Brora U17's 0

Sunday the 29th  Wick Academy entertained Brora Rangers.

The game started at a brisk pace with Academy going 2-0 up within the first 5 minutes with goals from Mark Macgregor and Alan Hughes, both goals coming from flowing moves down the right hand side.

The game then settled into abit of a mid-field battle, with Jack Halliday again having a good game in the middle of the park. Two further goals were added in the first half Alan Hughes scoring from the edge of the box after a mazy run with a shot that beat the keeper high into his right hand side.

Ryan Begg then surpassed this effort when he beat two players then with his left foot scored from 25 yards into the top left hand corner.

Half time 4-0

The second half started with Academy upping the pace of the game, at times some of the football  played was outstanding, one touch fast passing always keeping the ball on the ground. The game was now pretty much one-way traffic heading towards the Brora goal, the only surprise of the half was it took 22 minutes for Academy to score, again the man on the end of a fine move was Alan Hughes making it 5-0 also scoring his hat-trick. Alan then scored his fourth of the game when he got the ball wide on the right, he beat three players on a run that took him into the box and fired a shot that was still rising when it hit the net (goal of the match)

Alan Steven then got in on the act scoring three times in ten minutes to make the score 9-0 a real poachers instinct when it comes to finishing, the scoring though was not done, man of the match Alan Hughes got his 5th of the afternoon latching onto a mistake by the Brora keeper to make the final score 10-0.

Full time 10-0
