Shop Window Winner

Shop Window Competition - Winning Entry

Some of the shop windows in town are just tremendous. The big displays at the Groat and Ladbrokes are very eye-catching, Bev Cook's Bliss Bridal really classy, and Gunn & Co have Academy merchandise, historic photos and a Wick-Brechin subbuteo match. It was very difficult to choose between Harrold Bros and Plowman's Carpets but by a whisker the winner is: Katrina at Plowman's Carpets. The imaginative poem tipped the balance. Katrina's prize is two match tickets with hospitality for today's game.

The poem used in Plowman's shop window is as follows:
Come on the Scorries

On Saturday the 28th we're home to Brechin in the cup,
The Scorries they are flying high,
in the League we're moving up.
Let's hope this form continues and we beat them in this game,
and then get one of the big boys,
things will never be the same,
So come away the Black and Whites,
let's give it our best shot,
and show us "DIRTY WEEKERS" are a hardy lot.
Let's hear Tam Mulraine singing "Tiny bubbles in the wine"
And all the pubs and clubs in Wick,
Are Bouncing at FULL TIME.
Pictures of all the other windows that were decorate are shown below. Wick Academy F.C. would like to thank all of the shops that participated. Your contribution is much appreciated.
