Academy started well with both Richard Macadie and Gordon MacNab having chances within the first five minutes.

Wick opened the scoring in the 11th minute after Craig Gunn ended his drive down the right with a cut back to Richard Macadie who slotted the ball past Rothes keeper Cameron Mackay.

Rothes found their equaliser on the half hour - when, after a goalmouth scramble, Jaime Wilson turned the ball past Sean McCarthy.

Fifteen minutes into the second half Gordon MacNab had a chance to give Academy the lead - but a superb point blank save from the Wick man's header kept the scores level.

Two goals in 4 minutes put the game beyond the home side - both goals beating the Wick offside trap - First on 67 minutes,  Jaime Wilson's cross into the box cut out Wick keeper Sean McCarthy and Steven Anderson duly slotted the ball into an empty net. Four minutes later a similar senario but this time Anderson turned provider beating the oncoming McCarthy and supplying the cross to Scott Davidson who headed in to the once again empty net.
