Pre-Season Fixture News

Wick Academy FC are pleased to announce a very exciting 2018-19 pre-season friendly schedule.

Team manager Tom Mckenna has been working feverishly to ensure his team has the best possible start to the forth coming season.

The friendlies kick off with a home tie on Saturday June 30th at 1pm against Ross County FC who last visited us in July 2014 under the now departed Derek Adams.

The week after (July 7th) we host Orkney FC in our annual Ken Green cup match with a 3pm start.

Our next friendly is a very special 125th anniversary commerative game against a Scottish Premier League side who have agreed to send a development XI team with a scattering of 1st  team players to Harmsworth Park on Sunday July 15th details of which we will announce shortly.

Our fourth and final planned friendly is also a first for the Club when we travel to Broadwood Stadium in Cumbernauld on Saturday 21st July to round off a very busy pre-season schedule to play Lowland League side Cumberland Colts on the all-weather surface they share with League 2 side Clyde FC.

Chairman James Innes said "Tom has worked his socks off this year to ensure the squad has a great pre-season fitness and friendly match schedule" he added "our away match to Cumbernauld Colts is hopefully a great weekend away for the squad to play a team we've never played before in a stadium we're unlikely to get the chance to play in again" he said "the executive committee hasn't been sitting on our hands either as we've managed to entice a Premier League side north to celebrate our special 125th anniversary year which will be announced shortly once we've dotted the I's and crossed the T's".
