Academy took the lead through Sam Mackay after 17 minutes and managed to hold that until Matthew Wallace equalised with 11 minutes of normal time left. Chris Blackhall and Robert Scott then scored in the 5th and 7th minutes of injury time to earn Deveronvale all three points.

Academy started the game well and had the first half-sniff at goal after 15 minutes but Steven Anderson saw his 20 yard effort sail over the cross-bar.

2 minutes later Academy opened the scoring. Marc MacGregor picked out Sam Mackay with a great pass and Mackay riffled home with a 20 yard shot passed keeper Errol Watson.

0 - 1

Vale won a free kick and Shaun Carrol was unlucky not to score as his curing effort smacked off the right-hand post.

2 minutes later and from another free-kick Michael Dunn had a header at the near-post which was just wide of target.

Half Time - Deveronvale 0 - Wick Academy 1

10 minutes after the re-start Mackay came close to his second but his rasping drive was tipped over the cross-bar by Watson.

Grant Steven had a shot that was just wide of the post before Academy had a stone-wall shout for a penalty kick. Steven Anderson chased a ball into the box and keeper Watson came out to claim it but smacked into Anderson hitting him in the chest with his knee, both falling to the ground in a heap. Referee Liam Duncan however waved away the cries for the penalty.

Vale started to build up some pressure winning 2 corners on the spin, and eventually they drew level. Academy failed to clear a ball into the box and it went ping-pong before falling to Matthew Wallace and he hammered home from close range.

1 - 1

McCarthy made a great save from substitute Robert Scott to keep the scores level, and up the other end in the 90th minute Anderson looked as if he'd scored but Watson was on hand to deny him, blocking a 20 yard shot.

5 minutes into stoppage time heart-break for Academy as poor defending saw the ball break to Chris Blackhall  and he made no mistake with a low drive from inside the penalty box.

2 - 1

2 minutes later the game was well and truly won when again slack Academy defending let Robert Scott onto the ball and he hammered home to seal the 3 points for the home side.

3 - 1
