Academy travelled to Christie Park today without the services of Sam Mackay, Alan Farquhar and Andrew Hardwick, but despite that they racked up a great 5-1 win, our best ever result at Christie Park. Four first half goals from Davie Allan, two from Steven Anderson and Richard Macadie more or less had the game wrapped up by half-time. Allan went on to claim his second of the match in the second half, and Glenn Murison pulled a consolation back for the home side seven minutes from full time.

The result is Academy's fourth league win on the bounce and the three points pushes Academy a couple of places up the table back into 6th spot.

Academy started the game on the front foot and created the first chance in the opening minutes. Davie Allan had a neat interchange of passes with Danny Mackay before teeing up James Pickles, but he fired over the crossbar from 12 yards out.

Huntly went more or less straight up the other end and Jordan Morrice was played in one-on-one with Sean McCarthy, but McCarthy made a good block.

Academy opened the scoring in the 9th minute. Andrew Mackay had a surging run down the left wing before squaring the ball across goal for Davie Allan to tap in from 6 yards out.

0 - 1

Paul Napier had a chance to level the scores but he shot wide of target.

On 18 minutes Academy doubled their advantage. Davie Allan fired a dangerous cross into the Huntly box from the right flank which the Huntly back line failed to properly clear. Steven Anderson latched onto it and he hammered home from close range.

0 - 2

Three minutes later Richard Macadie got himself on the score-sheet as he beat the off-side trap running onto a Davie Allan pass and finished with a cool-head passed keeper Craig Reid from 12 yards out.

0 - 3

Davie Allan had a chance to grab his second of the game as he took the ball around keeper Reid but he sent his shot wide of target.

Sean McCarthy had to be smart to deny Genn Murison pulling a goal back as the young Wick goalie made a smart stop.

Four minutes before the interval Academy again found the net. Steven Anderson bagged his second of the match driving home a low drive from the edge of the box.

0 - 4

Huntly had another chance just before the break but McCarthy again denied Glenn Murison.

Half Time - Huntly 0 - Wick Academy 4

Change for Academy at the start of the second half as Andrew Mackay was substituted for Marc MacGregor.

Just passed the hour and Dennis Wyness came close for the home side but his effort was cleared off the line by Danny Mackay.

On 70 minutes Academy went nap. Richard Macadie played a short corner to Davie Allan and he broke into the box and rifled the ball towards goal through a crowded penalty area and it found the back of the net.

0 - 5

Glenn Murison had come close several times during the game and on 83 minutes he pulled a goal back when he volleyed home a cross from Jordan Morrice.

1 - 5
