A patched-up Academy side recovered from a three-goal half-time deficit to earn a remarkable win by scoring five times in the second half against Forres. With Sean McCarthy likely to be out for another 4 weeks Academy have signed keeper Michael MacCallum on a short-term loan deal from Strathspey Thistle. He started between the sticks. Regulars James Pickles, Gary Manson, Ross Allan and Michael Steven were all unavailable.

Forres broke the deadlock in the 10th minute when Stuart Soane turned home a close-range effort at the back post.

0 - 1

It did not take long for the hosts to double the advantage. In the 17th minute, Simon Allan whipped a corner into the front post and Soane attacked the delivery with determination to glance a header into the net and give Wick a tough task to get back into the game.

0 - 2

Just five minutes later, Lee Fraser scored with a superb looping header from the edge of the area to put his team firmly in control.

It seemed to be game over but Academy managed to reduce the deficit on the hour when Gary Weir was left with an easy finish from six yards out.

Academy then quickly scored again, Davie Allan sending in a shot which went into the net at Forres goalkeeper Stuart Knight's near post.

2 - 3

The Scorries drew level as Mechanics failed to clear the ball and Marc MacGregor punished the hosts by scoring with a low shot.

3 - 3

It was soon to go from bad to worse for the Can-Cans when Steven Anderson rounded Knight and slotted home.

3 - 4

Richard Macadie then scored late on to round off a stunning comeback win for his side.
